Wedding Advice Box: Words of Wisdom From Your Guests
Good wishes, seasoned marriage advice, words of wisdom… your wedding guests (especially the married ones!) will have plenty of pearls of wedding wisdom to impart when the time comes for you to say ‘I do’ – so why not encourage them to do just that, by creating an eye-catching wedding advice box for them to contribute to? Of course, it doesn’t have to simply be a postbox… there are so many creative ways you can convince your nearest and dearest to share their top tips with you. Check out Kelly Anne Jordan’s craft ideas below, and find inspiration for creating your very own wedding advice project in time for the big day!
Words of Wisdom Wedding Advice Jar:
Simple yet effective, this adorable little wedding advice jar is easy enough to create, even for those of you with very little crafty experience! You can either buy yourself a glass jar or simply clean and save one from the kitchen cupboard. Then all you need is some plain card and a set of decorative pens to create your own label, explaining to your guests what you’d like them to do! You could tie the label around the neck of the jar using twine, as shown, or you could simply stick it to the glass. Complete the project by cutting out mini cards for your guests to fill in and place inside the jar. You could use dies or punches to give these decorative edges, or keep them plain and simple. If your wedding has a colour scheme, why not cut out the mini cards in a selection of coordinating colours?
Wedding Advice Framed Keepsake:
Here’s a gorgeous idea that will not only enable you to capture lots of words of wisdom from your guests, but also create a gorgeous display with them! You could put together a simple sky background using either coloured paper or paints, then cut your contribution cards out as little coloured balloons that can be added to the picture as they’re filled. Then, when the big day is over, you’ve got yourself a gorgeous personal keepsake to frame and hang somewhere in the home – a reminder of the day… and packed with advice for the future!
Wedding Advice Post Box:
Simple yet sweet, a straightforward box works just as well – you could create beautifully decorated postcards to sit beside it or inside it for your guests to write on, and hang your own homemade bunting above the box, so they know exactly what it is and what to do!
Wedding Tips For Your Anniversaries:
Here’s a quirky idea that we just loved – why not tailor your advice specifically to how many years you’ve been married? Ask your guests to contribute their words of wisdom specifically for one year of marriage, three years of marriage then five years of marriage… then leave the boxes unopened until the appropriate wedding anniversary, when you can make revealing what’s inside, part of your big celebration!
