Tooth Fairy Pouch: Quick and Easy Crochet Pattern

Perfect for beginners to crochet, this adorable little tooth fairy pouch makes the ideal gift for anyone with a wobbly tooth! When the day comes for it to fall out, this fantastic little crochet tooth provides a safe and secure spot to tuck it inside ready for a midnight visit from the tooth fairy… and the perfect place for her to leave behind a little token of treasure in return!
Skill Level: Beginner
Stitches Used:
- DC Double crochet
- HTR Half treble
You Will Need:
- 4.0 mm crochet hook
- Black Thread
- Caron Simply Soft Yarn – White
- Coloured ribbon
- Needle
- Small amount of stuffing
Crochet Tooth Fairy Pouch Pattern:
You will need to make two of these, for the pocket.
Row 1: Chain 13, double crochet into the 2nd chain and all the way across, chain 1 then turn (you should have 12 stitches).
Row 2: Double crochet into each stitch, 1 chain turn.
Rows 3-7: Repeat row 2 for rows 3-7.
Row 8: Double crochet into 6 stitches, chain 1 turn. This is making one of the roots.
Row 9: Working back across 6 stitches you just worked, double crochet into each stitch, chain 1 turn.
Row 10: Double crochet two together to decrease, double crochet into next 2 stitches, double crochet 2 together, chain 1 turn. You should have 4 stitches.
Row 11: One double crochet into each stitch across, chain 1 turn
Row 12: Repeat row 11
Row 13: Double crochet 2 together twice, fasten off.
Making the other root:
Rows 8-13: With the root you have just made on the right-hand side, re-join your yarn in the stitch just beside it as shown in the photo, and repeat rows 8-13.
Fasten off.
Flip your panel over so that the roots are facing downwards and re-join your yarn at the top right -hand side stitch of the panel.
Chain 1, double crochet in first stitch, half treble into next three stitches, double crochet into next stitch, slip stitch into next 2 stitches, double crochet into next stitch, half treble in next three stitches, double crochet into next stitch.
Fasten off and weave all ends in.
Joining the two panels together:
Place your two panels making sure the right sides are outwards.
Join your yarn at the top right-hand stitch and chain 1, double crochet in same stitch and each stitch around, working 2 dc into the corners. Once you are nearly all the way around, start adding the stuffing. Continue adding as you crochet around and make sure you have added enough before finishing. Join to first stitch with a slip stitch, fasten off and weave ends in.
Making the pouch for the back:
Row 1: Chain 13, then double crochet into 2nd chain from hook and each chain to the end. Chain 1 and turn.
Row 2: Double crochet into each stitch across,1 chain turn.
Rows 3-8: For rows 3-8, repeat row 2.
Fasten off.
Sew your pouch to the back of the tooth sewing three sides and leave the top open.
Sew your features on with the black thread and attach a bow, if desired.
And there you have it! Your tooth fairy pouches are complete, and ready and waiting to perform a very special job, when the time comes!
