Select your Easter die to feature as your card image; I am using the Floral Easter Egg from Sweet Dixie, but you could use something else of your own, if you have it! Begin by cutting the design out in a matte black card stock. Next, glue the die-cut design onto a sheet of acetate, and set to one side to dry.
On the reverse of the acetate, begin colouring the see-through areas using permanent markers. Stick to bright colours to achieve a vibrant effect.
Next, take your card base and matting layers. The card base, in kraft card measures 5 1/2” x 5 1/2”, the black card layer measures 5 1/4” x 5 1/4”, and finally the white layer measures 5” x 5”. Centre the egg die atop each layer, and die cut through to create an egg aperture through the layers, as shown.
Mount the cut egg within the aperture, fixing it in place to the inside of the card, using double sided tape. To neaten the inside of the card and hide your workings, cut another egg from black card, and stick this to the inside of the card – aligned with the design. Then cut another egg aperture from kraft card and place this over the top.
