1.) Have enough material
Nothing would be worse than starting your project and realising you’re a metre short. It’s better to have too much material and never run out.
2.) If you do buy too much material, use the scraps
Let’s say you do end up buying too much material. Don’t worry, it’s a good thing. Before you throw away those scraps, why not consider reusing them in a card-making project or to upcycle old furniture? Every piece of fabric can be reused into something new.
3.) Invest in the right sewing machine for you
Decide ahead of time what kind of sewer you want to be. Sewing machines are tailored for specific crafter’s needs. If you’re looking to start a small business,, then it’s best to get a machine with a lot of functions and longevity. Just looking for a hobby to do at home? 4.) Start Small
