Sarah Cawood’s Crafty Halloween Tree

If, like us, you love all things Halloween (it’s such a crafty time of year, after all!) then you’ll just love Sarah Cawood’s latest creative endeavour… DIY Halloween decorations to die for! If you’ve followed Sarah’s crafty journey so far, you’ll remember that in spring she began a creative tradition, by crafting her very own papercraft blossom tree. When Easter arrived, the tree was decorated with gorgeous glittered eggs, and now that Halloween has arrived, the tree has been transformed once more! Check out Sarah’s Halloween tree decorations below, and have a go at creating your very own ghosts and pumpkins!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE Halloween. I love it almost as much as I love Christmas (yes, that’s possible!) and I like to deck the halls with Halloween decorations for the whole of October. The other thing that’s fantastic about Halloween is the scope TO CRAFT! I have cuttings and books piled high by my bed at the moment and I’m going to do my best to get as crafty as I can this year, just like all good little witches!
This wool decoration craft is easy peasy, and a really lovely thing to get the kids involved with, too. You can either use a pom pom maker like I did, or you can make your pom poms the old fashioned way (like this child of the 80s used to, when she was a kid!) using a card ring; look on YouTube for tutorials.
You Will Need:
- Orange and white wool
- Pom pom maker
- Green pipe cleaners
- Googly eyes
- Craft glue
- Clear thread for hanging
- Piece of card for making the tassels
How to Make Halloween Tree Decorations:
Follow the instructions on my photos but really, with this one, you can almost guess what you have to do, which is why it’s such a perfect craft project to do with your kids.
I have hung my Halloween wool decorations on a twig tree we made that we hang all sorts of stuff on throughout the year, but you could go foraging for a good, twiggy piece of wood and maybe spray paint it black to showcase your spooky wool creations!
Like I said, I LOVE Halloween (did I mention I love Halloween??) so I really hope you enjoy this one!
Get your witchy craft on, girls and guys! Love from Witchy Cawood.
