- Masking tape
- Glue gun or other strong glue
- Gold marker pen
How To Make DIY Modern Easter Decor
With your pencil, draw a line through the centre of your egg, that goes all the way around it.
Place your egg on a cutting mat and use a craft knife to cut through the middle, using your pencil mark as a guide. Repeat with your other two eggs so you have six halves altogether.
Paint each of your egg halves. When dry, paint them again with a second coat for solid coverage, and leave to dry fully.
Make three gold top eggs by cutting a piece of masking tape and placing it across the top, creating a separate section. Ensure the tape is smooth with no folds or air gaps.
Paint this top section with gold acrylic paint and leave it to dry. Peel off the masking tape to reveal your dual coloured egg with a metallic gold top!
For your remaining three eggs, place masking tape strips on the surface at different angles and paint with a second colour of your choice. If you’d like to add a third colour, wait for the second colour to dry first.
Draw a border around your canvas that is 1.5cm in from the edge all the way around and paint it red, or the colour of your choice.
When it’s dry, outline the edge with a gold marker pen.
Arrange your eggs on the frame, evenly spaced apart, and glue them into place.
Once dry, your gorgeous modern Easter decor is complete! You can either hang it on the wall, or place it on a shelf, where it will bring instant cheer!
