LOVE Macrame: How To Make Curtain Ties
Searching for a new look around the house? The wonderful Devon Coverdale is back again to show us how to add a little bit of extra light into any room in the house with these wonderful macrame curtain ties. Have a look at these easy steps and create them for yourself!
You Will Need:
- 10m macrame cord
- Needle and thread
- Decorative bead
Cut the following lengths of cord
1 x 2m
4 x 1m
14 x 30cm
Fold the 2m length in half and measure around your curtain, work out where you want the
pendant to sit. Tie a knot roughly where you want the pendant to start.
Using double half hitch knots create a v shape beneath this knot.
Continue using double half hitch knots but attach the cords to the opposite side anchor
cord to create a solid diamond shape.
Using double half hitch knots again create another v – make sure you leave some slack in
the outer cord to allow space to add more cords onto it at the end.
Use double half hitch again, but this time take the cords from the inside first and knot
them outwards to create a gap in the diamond.
Repeat steps 3 and 4 to create another diamond.
Using larks head knots attach the 30cm cords to the outer cords you created in step 5
Brush out the cord and trim to shape.
Optional step – add a decorative bead to add a pop of colour, simply thread the bead into
the second diamond shape.
