Ignite the Spark: Siobhan Ferguson’s Illuminated Glass Jar

Something exciting’s coming your way… it’s time to ignite the spark! The days are getting longer, the evenings are getting brighter, and the ultimate illuminating event is almost here! That’s right… it’s Create and Craft’s 15th birthday, and we’re about to get the party started! To get you in the mood for the big celebration, we’ve put together a fantastic collection of illuminating projects, aglow with creativity! Here’s a sneak peek at just one of the luminous ideas you can try your hand at – Siobhan Ferguson’s Glowing Glass Jar!

Perfect for brightening up a dark corner, or adding extra illumination to a late summer evening, this gorgeous glass jar decoration is fun and easy to create, and simply gorgeous to keep on display all year round!

You Will Need:

Step 1:

Ensure your jar is clean, removing any debris inside and removing any labels and glue.

Step 2:

Wrap the hessian around the jar; you should allow for a slight overlap and cut to size.

Step 3:

You can now trim the lace and ribbon to the same length. Glue these to the jar, ensuring the seam is in the same place for the hessian and lace. Wrap twine around the hessian and lace, tying off in a bow over the seam.

Step 4:

Select the flowers for attaching to the jar; you can make some flowers using the hessian or lace by simply cutting to 4 inches in length, and rolling towards you lengthways, gathering and gluing as you roll.

Step 5:

Glue on an arrangement of flowers, placing these over the seam on the jar. Attach a wooden sentiment and other embellishments of your choice.

Step 6:

Place your light inside, switch on and enjoy!
