Remove the paper tab from the base of the wick, and stick to the base of the jar in the centre.

Step 2:

Remove the label from the wax bottle, unscrew the lid slightly, then place in a pan of water so the level reaches half way up the bottle. Place on heat, then bring to a simmer to melt the wax. This should take about 20 minutes.

Step 3:

Once the wax is melted, add the whole bottle of fragrance along with five drops of colour, replace the lid tightly then gently shake. Allow to stand for three minutes to allow the fragrance and colour to absorb.

Step 4:

Carefully pour the melted wax into the jar so it fills about a quarter of it then leave it to set. Place the wax bottle back in the simmering saucepan to keep the wax melted.

Once the wax in the jar has set, add another 5 drops of colour to the melted wax, shake, then pour on top so the wax reaches half way up the jar. Repeat the process twice more adding five drops of colour each time.

Allow the candle to set completely then trim the wick to 5mm. Hand-write “love” on the front of the jar, then tie a raffia bow around the top for the perfect finishing touch!
