Arts and Crafts — Good, Wholesome Fun!
Getting the kids involved in arts and crafts is one of the best ways to keep them entertained. Not only is crafting good, wholesome fun, but it’ll keep them busy for a few hours. Plus, they’ll have a great piece of artwork that you can display in your home with pride.
Take this butterfly art from Charlotte Newland, for example. This simple picture can be made by children of all ages, utilising a variety of skills. If they’re old enough to hold a paintbrush, there’s no reason why you can’t make this adorable work of art together!
You need few materials to complete this butterfly art. We recommend the Xcut ‘Pointed Butterfly’ Large Palm Punch in particular. This great tool makes quick and easy work of cutting out large butterfly shapes, so you needn’t have to panic about your little one getting busy with a pair of scissors. Instead, all they have to do is slide the card into the punch and push down on the finger-friendly lever. Of course, they’ll always need your supervision, but there’s no reason why they can’t take the lead throughout this nature-inspired kids project.
If your child isn’t a huge fan of butterflies, Xcut has a great range of other large child-friendly punch designs. They could punch out petals, snowflakes, or daisies to stick onto their art!
ADORNit offers a fantastic mega pack of Watercolour Paints that work perfectly for this project. The set includes 24 different colours within 4 circular mini palettes. They’ll have pretty much every colour at their fingertips to paint as far as their imagination takes them.
