How to Crochet a Heart Hanger: Easy Home Decor!

How to Crochet a Heart
Make an adjustable slip knot.
Working in the back of the chain, make 1dc in 2nd ch from hook. 1dc in each remaining chain (9dc)
1ch, 9dc across
Turn square 90 degrees to work on the left side. In the edge of row 5 work 10dtr, ss into the next corner.
Turn work 90 degrees and work 10dtr into the 5th stitch of the foundation chain.
Ss into the next corner and fasten off the first heart side but leave yarn attached to the second side.
Joining both sides together, working from the finishing point of second heart work 9dc down the left side, work 3dc in centre point at bottom, work 9dc up right side, (2dcinc, 1dc) 5 times, 1ss in centre dip, start to lightly stuff the heart, (1dc, 2dcinc) 5 times, ss into next st and fasten off.
Small Heart Centre:
Make and adjustable slip knot and ch2
5tr, 1dtr, 5tr, 2ch all into first chain and fasten off.
Pull slip knot really tight to close centre hole and secure end.
With a contrasting colour, sew a running stitch around the edge of each large heart keeping it neat on the underside so you can reverse the hearts.
Work 55ch, ss into the 5th chain from the hook and fasten off. This creates a small hanging loop at the top. Work more chain stitches if you wish it to be longer. Sew in end.
Sew hearts at even distances along the chain. Cut two 15cm/6” strands of each colour yarn and fold in half altogether. Loosen the starting adjustable slip knot and form a tassel in this slip knot. Pull all ends tightly, and trim tassel.
