DIY Photo Wall Tutorial:

Step 1:

First, tie a piece of twine to either end of one piece of wood, so you can hang it to a hook. Leave plenty of twine hanging down one side.

Tip: I find it’s best to do this while it’s hanging.

Step 2:

Tie the bottom wood in place with the first bit of twine that’s hanging down, and cut excess twine. Tie another piece to the other end, and use this to connect it to the top piece of wood. Leave plenty of extra twine, as we’ll use this for our webbing!

Step 3:

Weave the twine between the two pieces of wood, looping once around the wood to help the structure to stay steady. Keep going until you’ve reached the other piece of twine at the other end.

Step 4:

Now, create some tassels with rosemary by taking about 20cm, scraping away 3cms of leaves, then using gold thread to wrap around the top. Start by making a loop, then use the rest of the thread to wrap around, and tie off.

Step 5:

Tie your tassels to the bottom, and also use some sprigs between the photos! Clip these on with the small pegs, and add any other decorative bits you want.

Tip: You don’t have to use driftwood, you could also use sticks from the back yard, bamboo stakes, or even a broom handle cut in half!

And there you have it – your stunning photo display is complete, and looks like it came straight out of a magazine! This project is so simple and yet so effective, and is a great way to transform a space with minimum effort, and maximum impact.
