Frighteningly Fabulous Halloween Crochet Coasters!

Here’s a frighteningly fabulous way to add a spooky touch to your home decor this October – Halloween crochet coasters! These ghoulish little ghosts will be the talk of your Halloween party, impressing guests AND saving your furniture from drink spills all at the same time. Not only do these spooky little characters make fully functional coasters, but you could also string them together to create Halloween bunting, or hang them individually in windows and doorways using transparent thread to give your guests a fright! Check out Mandy Cameron’s free crochet pattern below, and create a gang of ghosts in time for your own frightful festivities!
Time to Make: 1 hour each approximately
Skill Level: Confident Beginner
You Will Need:
- Caron Simply Soft Aran yarn in White
- 1m black DK yarn for facial features
- 4mm crochet hook
- Yarn Needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- ss = slip stitch
- sts = stitches
- dc = double crochet
- 2dcinc = 2 double crochet into next stitch
- dc2tog = double crochet 2 sts together
Top Tip: Using a turning ch at the beginning of every row will cause an uneven edge and can be confusing whether it is a stitch or not. In this pattern, no turning chains have been used. The first stitch of every row is just a little looser than normal, you will be able to gauge how loose to do it and it will be obvious where the last stitch is to be positioned. Also as a failsafe, count your stitches regularly.
Halloween Crochet Coasters Pattern:
Make a slip knot and ch17.
