Sarah Cawood’s DIY Valentine’s Gift For Him:
Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and I was at a loss as to what to get my other half!
Part of me thinks the whole thing is a bit silly, and I hate forced romance, but the other part thinks that even though we should show our loved ones how much we love them all the time, we often get caught up in school runs and the hum drum of every day life. Valentine’s Day is a timely reminder, perhaps, to celebrate love in all its forms.
My DIY Valentine’s Day keepsake is cheap and easy to make, and such a lovely reminder of those heady early days of any relationship!
You Will Need:
- A box frame
- Maps of places special to you and your loved one
- Access to a printer
- Cork board
- Pin tacks
- Heart shaped toppers
- Red and white card
Before you put all your components together, have a little play with what looks best. I hand wrote my little arrows but if you’ve got more of a surgeon’s handwriting, then you can always print them off!!
You can make this project as simple or as fancy as you like, but I decided that simplicity worked most effectively.
I really enjoyed putting this DIY Valentine’s Day gift together – not only was it a great excuse to get the craft stash out, but it was also a really lovely few hours spent reminiscing about how my husband and I met and fell in love… and what could be lovelier than that?
