Getting the sniffles or a cold is inevitable at this time of year, but you’ll be prepared with this DIY travel pouch tucked neatly in your bag!

You will Need:

Step-by-step Travel Pouch Tissue Holder:

Step 1:

Cut out your pieces of fabric to the correct sizes.

Step 2:

Take the narrow band of fabric and sew a small roll hem along one edge.

Step 3:

Place the strip along the bottom edge of one of the larger fabric pieces with the hemmed edge along the top. Pin in place and stitch a very narrow seam down both sides of just a few mm.

Step 4:

Looking at the right side of the sewn fabric pieces, place the other fabric piece face down on top so that the right sides are facing each other. Sew a line of stitching down both sides 1cm in, outside of the narrow line of stitching you made before.

Step 5:

Turn the fabric round the correct way and press the seams flat.

Step 6:

Turn one side in 7.25cm and pin in place. Repeat with the other side. You should have an overlap in the middle of approximately 1.5cm.

Step 7:

Stitch along the top and bottom edges 1cm in. Sew a zigzag stitch along the raw edges to prevent fraying. Trim off the corners, turn the project through and pull out the corners with a pin. Press the edges to complete your project.

Step 8:

Remove some of the tissues from their box, keeping them flat. Insert gently inside the open flap. Pull the top tissue through the gap. Use the pocket on the reverse for whatever you wish to carry!
