And if you’re a papercrafter, then we think you’ll love this fantastic honeycomb tissue paper, because it makes creating DIY Paper Christmas Decorations so easy! Check out our step-by-step tutorial below, and discover how to create eye-catching snowballs, baubles, and other festive shapes with ease, to add to the tree, table centrepieces, and more!
You Will Need:
- Honeycomb paper
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Double-sided tape
- Thread to hang (optional)
How to Make DIY Paper Christmas Decorations:
Step 1:
When creating a bauble shape using your honeycomb paper, remember that the lines on the paper should be horizontal as you work. Begine by creating a semi-circle template (if you wish to create a spherical bauble) and draw around this.
Step 2:
If you are creating a bauble or snowball with a diameter greater than 7cm, cut out this shape twice from your honeycomb tissue paper.
Step 3:
Once fully cut-out, carefully unfold your shape by gentle pulling from either end of the layered honeycomb sheet.
Step 4:
Next, add lines of double-sided tape onto one of your semi-circles of honeycomb paper. These lines must overlap the straight edge of the semi circle as shown – you can use the straight lines in the paper to help guide your application!
Step 5:
Now, place your two semi-circles beside one another to form an entire circle. Turn the circle over, and add double sided tape in exactly the same way as you did before.
Step 6:
Now, remove the top protective layer of the double sided tape, and fold the circle over to complete your sphere!
Step 7:
That’s your first decoration complete… but don’t let it be your last! There’s a whole variety of gorgeous DIY Paper Christmas Decorations you can create using this fantastic honeycomb paper – the only limit is your imagination!
