DIY Crochet Wall Baskets: Clear Your Desk!

You Will Need:
- 2 x 70g Yarn (I used Lily Sugar n Cream 100% Aran weight Cotton yarn)
- 5mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle
Abbreviations: UK Terminology
- adjustable slip knot = magic ring
- ch = chain
- ss = slip stitch
- dc = double crochet
- 2dcinc = 2dc in next stitch
- htr = half treble
- tr = treble crochet
DIY Crochet Wall Baskets Pattern:
Large Basket:
Make an adjustable slip knot and ch2
Rnd 1: 6dc into first ch
Rnd 2: 2dc in every stitch around (12dc)
Rnd 3: (1dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (18dc)
Rnd 4: (2dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (24dc)
Rnd 5: (3dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (30dc)
Rnd 6: (4dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (36dc)
Rnd 7: (5dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (42dc)
Rnd 8: (6dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (48dc)
Rnd 9: (7dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (54dc)
Rnd 10-15: htr all round
As there are no increases in these rounds it will cause your work to curl up at the edge. This is intentional to start to create the cylindrical body of the basket.
Rnd 16: *1ch, miss 1htr, 1tr in next st*. Repeat from *to* around to last 2sts, miss 1htr, 1ch, (the first stitch of the next round goes into the first 1ch sp).
Rnd 17: (1htr in next ch sp, 1htr in each tr) repeat around
Rnd 18-19: htr all round
Rnd 20: *1ch, miss 1htr, 1tr in next st* (pic B). Repeat from *to* around to last 2sts, miss 1htr, 1ch, (the first stitch of the next round goes into the first 1ch sp).
Rnd 21-22: htr all round
Rnd 23: dc all round, turn to work in rows from this point.
Row 24-34: 1ch, 18dc, turn
Fasten off, leaving tail for sewing.
Fold flap in half and sew to Row 24 to create channel for dowel/rod.
Small Basket:
Make an adjustable slip knot and ch2
Rnd 1: 6dc into first ch
Rnd 2: 2dc in every stitch around (12dc)
Rnd 3: (1dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (18dc)
Rnd 4: (2dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (24dc)
Rnd 5: (3dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (30dc)
Rnd 6: (4dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (36dc)
Rnd 7-9: htr all round
Rnd 10: *1ch, miss 1htr, 1tr in next st* (pic B). Repeat from *to* around to last 2sts, miss 1htr, 1ch, (the first stitch of the next round goes into the first 1ch sp).
Rnd 11: (1htr in next ch sp, 1htr in each tr) repeat around
Rnd 12: htr all round
Rnd 13: dc all round
Rnd 14: 5dc, turn to work in rows from this point
Row 15: 1ch, 10dc
Row 16-26: 1ch, 10dc, turn
Fasten off, leaving tail for sewing. Fold flap in half and sew to Row 16 to create channel for dowel/rod.
Tall Basket:
Make an adjustable slip knot and ch2
Rnd 1: 6dc into first ch
Rnd 2: 2dc in every stitch around (12dc)
Rnd 3: (1dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (18dc)
Rnd 4: (2dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (24dc)
Rnd 5: (3dc, 2dcinc) repeat around (30dc)
Rnd 6-8: htr all round
Rnd 9: *1ch, miss 1htr, 1tr in next st* (pic B). Repeat from *to* around to last 2sts, miss 1htr, 1ch, (the first stitch of the next round goes into the first 1ch sp).

Row 20: 1ch, 5dc, turn to work in rows
Row 21-31: 1ch, 8dc, turn
Fasten off, leaving tail for sewing. Fold flap in half and sew to Row 16 to create channel for dowel/rod.
