Debbie Shore’s Easter Bunny Tutorial:
This cute, quirky Easter bunny brings the gift of flowers… but add a little heart or Easter egg to the paws to make him a little bit different if you want to! I’ve tied a bow around the neck but this could work just as well on the head – plus you could try making the ears stand up by pushing a couple of chenille sticks inside!
You Will Need:
- 26” x 12” fabric A
- 26” x 12” fabric B
- Approx. 200g toy filler
- Embroidery thread
- Doll needle [around 6″ long]
- 4 buttons
- Silk flower [optional]
- Strong wet fabric glue
- Hand sewing needle and thread
- 10” ribbon

Sew the two body pieces right sides together, leaving a gap in the back for turning. Snip around the curves – I find pinking shears the easy option!
Turn the right side out and stuff through the gap. Hand sew the opening closed.
Sew the ear pieces right sides together in pairs, leaving the short ends open. Snip the curves, turn the right side out. Fold the raw edges in by about ¼” and press.
Pinch the tops of the ears and hand sew to secure the pleats.
Hand sew the ears to each side of the head. I like to add a spot of wet glue under the stitches to help secure them.
Sew the arm pieces right sides together, leaving a gap in the under side of about 1.5”. turn the right side out and stuff with toy filler. Hand sew the opening closed.
Sew the legs in the same way.
Place the arms over each side of the body, take your doll needle and thread straight through both arms and body.
Take the needle through one button, then back through the body to the second arm and another button. Tie the ends of the thread underneath the button. Pull the thread to make ‘dimples’ in the arms.
Repeat with the legs.
Sew [or glue] the pompom bob tail to bunny’s bottom.
Add two French knots for eyes. If you wish, tie the paws together and sew a sprig of silk flowers to the join. Tie the ribbon around the neck in a bow to finish!
