Cut four white ears and two pink felt inner ears from your template. Cut two 13” squares from white fabric and two from pink. Hand sew the pink inner ears to the centre of two white ears using a running stitch.

Step 2:

Fuse fleece to the wrong sides of these ear pieces. Sew the remaining white ears to the pink, right sides together. Trim the curves, turn the right side out and edge stitch around the seams. Make a small pleat in the bottom of each ear and sew.

Step 3:

Step 6:

Sew the two sections right sides together, matching seams, leave a turning gap in the bottom of the lining of about 3”.

Step 7:

Pinch the corners so that the side seams sit over the base seams, sew across the corners, 1” from the points. This will make the base of the bag square.

Step 8:

Turn the right side out and sew the opening closed. Push the lining inside the bag, edge stitch around the top, then sew another row of stitches ¾” below this to form a channel.

Step 9:

Unpick the stitches in between the two rows of stitching in both side seams.

Step 10:

  • Brilliant tutorial Debbie. Thank you so much. I Love it and so will my nieces. We do not see enough of you on TV lately. Would love more of your programmes. I have nearly all of your books and I love them and still sewing at 80.
