Change to 3.5mm hook.
Row 1: 1dc into 2nd chain from hook, 1dc in each remaining ch (16dc)
Row 2-8: 1ch, 1dc in every stitch across (16dc)
Place a marker at either end of this row.

Place a marker at either end of this row.
Row 17-24: 1ch, 1dc in every stitch across (16dc) fasten off
Sides:
*Row 1: With orange yarn and 3.5mm hook, working on the long side, make 1dc in the end of row 9 next to first marker.
Make 1dc in the end of the next 15 rows, keeping stitches as even as possible.
Row 2-8: 1ch, 1dc in every stitch across (16dc) fasten off.
Turn the piece 180 degrees and repeat from *to* for second side.
Finishing:
Take an orange flap, fold over to centre line, and sew the right hand side down at the edge. Repeat this for all 4 sides, creating an up and over on each one.
Bring the unsewn corner (left side), over the top of the sewn edge and flatten into place. Sew this edge down carefully from the outside ensuring sewing stitches do not show, creating a chequered look
Now your crochet pouch is complete and ready for use! Pop your essentials inside and throw it in your handbag, to keep everything easily accessible.
