The award winning Crafting Live show, formerly Summer and Winter Crafting, is coming to Peterborough this November. Crafting Live is part of the same ‘family’ as Peterborough based craft shopping channel, Create and Craft TV; making this a particularly important event in the Crafting Live […]
We’re now in October so one of the nation’s favourite events, Halloween, isn’t all that far away. If you’re planning on hosting a creepy Halloween party or have a child who wants to invite their friends round for a scary night, you’ll need some invitations. Luckily, we have Sarah Hurley on hand to help. Sarah‘s ‘Spooky!’ Halloween invitations are quick, simple, and totally effective. I can already hear the cackles of witches soaring through the night’s sky…
World Animal Day is all about raising awareness for those who don’t have a voice to do so themselves. The movement aims to help improve animal welfare standards worldwide, making the planet a fairer place for all its inhabitants. If you know the Crafty Beggars, […]
Most crafters love animals; they seem to be two passions that go hand-in-hand. For that reason, craft brands are increasingly incorporating animals into their product ranges. At this very moment, Hunkydory, Kanban, My Sentiments Exactly, Trimcraft and Tattered Lace all feature pet-themed designs across their supplies — something that we don’t see stopping.
It’s giveaway time! Because it’s World Cardmaking Day on Saturday 7th October, we’ve teamed up with FabScraps to celebrate with a Create & Craft blog giveaway. If you’re the lucky winner, we’ll send you a beautiful bundle of FabScraps cardmaking goodies worth £50!
As we’re now two days away from October, I want to help you all get in the Halloween spirit. This time of the year is a brilliant excuse to craft spooky, creepy, or downright ghoulish projects. But Halloween isn’t all about scaring the living daylights out of our recipients — it’s so much more. This time of the year is one of the best because it allows you to have fun with your project designs. It’s an excuse to go a bit crazy with your crafting, showering your cards and decorations with evil pumpkins, haunted houses, eerie ghosts, and ghastly witches.
If your crafting bubble includes papercraft giant Hunkydory, you’ll be well aware that this week is their 9th anniversary. As such, we’ve thrust ourselves into the party spirit to show you why this popular brand deserves to be celebrated. (We even made a cake for the […]
This month, we’ll be learning how to sew solid lines with backstitch, embroider flowers and leaves with a simple lazy-daisy stitch, and fill in areas with the beautiful satin stitch. We will also be using the French knot from last month to add pretty details […]
A scrapbook page is a record, documenting your milestones, big and small. And while a photograph can say a thousand words, it’s a good idea to add some words of your own to complete the story! If you’re lost for words, here are journaling prompts to get you writing.
This scrapbooking 101 article was written by scrapbooking expert, Sara Naumann.
Those of you who are up to date with Sara Naumann’s works will know that she loves crafting with My Sentiments Exactly stamps. Last month we gave you her adorable “Hang on Tight” card project (the bunny was literally hanging onto an umbrella — it […]
Psst, Crafties! Want an exclusive sneak peek behind the scenes at The Great British Sewing Bee LIVE? Of course you do! It’s happening RIGHT NOW (tickets still available on the door) in London. Yes, as I type excited dressmakers and sewers are bustling around the stands, indulging in all kinds of crafty goodies! Meanwhile back at C&C HQ we’re busy drooling over the dreamy stand, which has been designed in a shabby-chic vintage style (swoon) by our very own Sam – our Events Exec (you may have seen her at events such as Crafting Live). With a little help from her friends in the Set Design team, Sam has transformed her corner of the event (for which we are sponsoring the Super Theatre) and has even created a fun selfie wall (you know how we love a selfie at events). So pop along and say hello to Sam and friends – you can also meet our very own Debbie Shore and Stuart Hillard too!
