A craft booster kit is a great way to stock up on essential items that you will be able to use for a wide range of crafty projects. Here, Kathy Hodson from Trimcraft looks at three ways to use gold metallic doilies to bling up your gifts, together with other items from Trimcraft’s Simply Creative Christmas Basics Embellishment Kit. Project 1 uses a gold metallic doily, a dimensional sentiment sticker, doily dies, Christmas paper, washi tape, and twine to create a doily gift tag. Project 2 uses a gold metallic doily, twine, and a dimensional gold sentiment sticker to transform a plain gift box.

Lastly, project 3 uses a gold metallic doily, gold tissue paper, a dimensional sentiment sticker, a gold metallic marker, and mini pegs to create a festive gift bag. Watch to find out how…

Project 1 — Doily Gift Tag

Materials Required:

Instructions:

  1. Cut the largest nesting doily die from the gold foiled pinstripe papers in the First Edition Gift of Christmas 8″ x 8″ paper pad.
  2. Layer a metallic doily on top of the die-cut and add the dimensional sticker sentiment.
  3. Thread twine through the die-cut and fix to your gift with washi tape.

Project 2 — Doily Gift Box

Materials Required:

Instructions:

  1. Place a gold doily on top of your gift box.
  2. Wrap twine around the box three times and tie on top.
  3. Attach a dimensional sentiment sticker on top to finish.

Project 3 — Doily Gift Bags

Materials Required:

Instructions:

  1. Wrap your festive treats in gold tissue paper and place inside the cellophane bag. Fold the top of the bag over and fold a metallic doily over the top.
  2. Fix in place using wooden pegs coloured using the gold metallic marker.
  3. Finish with a dimensional gold sentiment sticker.
