If you’re a fan of a certain Hollywood movie, you’ll get the reference right away. Although florals for spring may not be groundbreaking, it’s an age-old tradition that’s been tried, tested, and works beautifully. Spring is the season of flowers; it’s when they come alive and really thrive. So it makes sense to incorporate blossoms into our everyday lives while we can. Crafting is not exempt from this custom – and Create & Craft know how to do florals right.
Many schools will only put on a prom if there’s a prom committee planning it. This committee is lead by students for their fellow students, so it’s a pretty big deal. The school will give them a budget that they have to stick to, then they can go wild with ideas. The only trouble is, if there’s a budget, the sky isn’t really the limit. That’s why it’s a fantastic idea to craft your prom. Instead of buying table decorations, why not create your own? Then you’ll have more money left in your budget to use elsewhere. Get the whole prom committee crafting DIY decorations!
Most of us remember Crush. He was the ridiculously laid back sea turtle that helped Nemo’s father hitch a ride on the East Australian current in Finding Nemo. His fearless son, Squirt, also succeeded in stealing our hearts with his high-spirited personality and big expressive eyes, so it’s no wonder that the world has dedicated an entire day to celebrating and protecting these fantastic creatures. That’s right, 23rd May 2017 is World Turtle Day!
Due to the popularity of our ‘DIY Wedding‘ season, we thought we’d get some celebrity crafters involved in the festivities. ‘Something for the Groom’ has been imagined, designed and handcrafted by last year’s Great British Sewing Bee winner, Charlotte Newland. Here’s her step-by-step project to create a pocket square and buttonhole for the lucky guy’s big day.
It’s that time of year again; Father’s Day is right around the corner. This day is incredibly special to a lot of people. Not just to receive free gifts (although that is a bonus!), but to honour the most important man in many people’s lives. Father’s Day doesn’t just give dads recognition, but it also celebrates stepfathers, fathers in law, and grandfathers. It’s a day for father figures. Although the day isn’t all about presents, it is about giving. It’s about showing him how much you appreciate all the things he does for you, in any way you can.
